The KVA are considering Open Gardens again, maybe for next year. Come back here for more information as it becomes available.
Open gardens was last held in 2019, and was incorporated
with an art exhibition. We also celebrated the newly opened memorial gardens
at St Mary’s church by starting the event from there.
A map was collected, for a small fee, from the church grounds, so that
people could see where to go in the village to enjoy the art and the gardens.
We had 17 different gardens for the public to come and enjoy. They varied
from large to small, and from one end of the village (last house on Wickwar
Road) to the other. (Kingswood house, opposite KLB)
All were stunningly beautiful with different plants, flowers, herbs, vegetables,
ponds, pebble pools, and ideas for the public to take away.
The children were not forgotten, as a treasure hunt around the village
gardens was put in place for them to enjoy too. This required the children
to draw the answers to the clues, to fit in with the art theme of the
open gardens.
